Fake

I’m sure most of you have heard of fake news.  News that is not founded on facts, or sprinkled with a few select facts to pull you in, and most importantly leading you into believing or retweeting, reposting, forwarding it on to somewhere else, in an effort to increase the belief.    Newspapers, if they have a comeback, this may their opportunity.

Fake food; we see every day, in Cheetos, pop, cereal, children and adult snack foods as well as those stamped as “organic”, “antibiotic free” or “no GMO”.  The similarity between fake news and fake food is that if you see where it comes from, you have a much better chance of confirming if it’s good for you.

Fake mindset; oh it is beautiful we’ve been told and I believe sometime it is, that the amber waves of grain… in the fields either growing corn, soy or wheat do look nice.  I have to catch myself now to reassess my appreciation of what 120,000,000 million acres of these are doing to us.

Fake security; I just don’t know (yet) how or how many times I have to say or give examples of what is happening right in front of us (especially since our phones and computers are right in front of us) so I say around us.

  • We know that corn and soy beans do not need bees
  • We know the plants we eat, require pollination and need bees
  • Bee colonies are registered and used as traveling pollinators
  • We are so dependent on other countries imported foods
  • We know that disease is increasing as food processing increases
  • We go grocery shopping every week instead of storing up
  • We lose our ability to sustain ourselves
  • We think that our food sources are secure
  • We think our food sources are safe
  • We know rain forests are being destroyed at alarming rates
  • We know vast species of both plant and animal are either extinct or close to it
  • Worst of all, most of us know all the above, and yet continue on as nothing is wrong

I believe we have created a very fragile society where our options are limited and resources are in peril on many fronts.  We see the fires that threaten the lives of both animal and human, as well as the vegetation are occurring from California to New York.  The droughts in California which cause the destruction of almond groves and the Texas water shortages that lead to the cattle sales and closure of the meat packing plant.

This is not meant to scare you or fear for your lives (well maybe a little, or a lot), but you may want to think of just how you react currently when your out of food and you’re hungry.  You have to go somewhere… and what if everyone else did also?  Only a couple significant negative impacts to our food sources today would put in one of the most chaotic live situations we have ever been in.  Eating and providing for our family.

Real possibilities; This way of life is not needed to occur if we follow the basics of our ancestors, by living in communities that are working, growing, sharing and sustaining ourselves together.  Producing for ourselves, while enabling ourselves to coordinate with surrounding communities to reinforce sustainability outward to everywhere!  The connectivity would become unbreakable if sustained from every side of each community.  In seasons of disparity and strife the developed relationships will be strong enough to endure without a national or international need of relief.  Neighbor helping neighbor!  Community helping community! Ethic reinforcing ethic!  Strengthening our nation.

Thank you.
